While most very successful musicians are talented, most talented musicians are not as successful as they might be. The Salt Lick Incubator is an effort to change that paradigm.
What We Do
Salt Lick Incubator is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit artist development organization supporting aspiring musicians in the early stages of their creative journeys. The Incubator seeks to help these musicians develop artistically, sustain their well-being, and forge viable careers.
We believe participation in a supportive creative community can improve outcomes for an emerging artist. While the artists we help remain responsible for their own success, Salt Lick Incubator offers motivated musicians critical support in key moments.
How We Do It
We bring new music to ardent music lovers. Our Salt Lick Sessions take music fans on a nationwide discovery tour over 50 times a year. Our intimate video portraits invite you directly into the artist’s realm through in-studio or on-location performances and interviews. Join the conversation by liking, sharing, subscribing, etc., and if there’s an artist you think we should feature on the Salt Lick Sessions, drop us a note at sessions@saltlickincubator.org.
We fund the artists you love. Our project grants can be game-changers for artists seeking to record, promote, perform, or otherwise further their work and careers. Awardees receive both funding and strategic support from industry professionals to help them make the most of their project. Want to help? We foster artistic growth and support the musical community. The Salt Lick Incubator supports musicians with collaborative opportunities. We bring together songwriters, producers, and performers through workshops, retreats, and showcases to facilitate relationships and encourage artistic cooperation.
We help convene an ecosystem of agents, managers, marketers, producers, lawyers, publicists and others who have a proven track record of competence and enthusiasm for emerging artists to help our musicians avoid some of the pitfalls so common in the music industry.
Music is one of the most powerful tools we have to help people understand, hear, and embrace one another. Supporting the music-making of our emerging artists advances a humane approach to one another and the world around us.

Our Mission
Salt Lick Incubator is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports emerging musicians with grants, collaborative opportunities, strategy, communication, marketing support, and data analytics, knit together by an overarching focus on wellness. We assemble a supportive community of artists operating within an exploitation-free ecosystem of partners who help developing artists discover pathways to sustainable careers. We will aspire to keep the primary focus on the profoundly beautiful act of creating music.
